Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Mini 2 with a Retina Display and Touch ID alongside a new iPad 5 at a special iPad event in October
The Apple iPad Mini 2 could feature the same Touch ID fingerprint scanner found on the iPhone 5s if these leaked images are anything to go by.
A Chinese website has posted two images which seemingly confirm that not only will the iPad Mini 2 be available in the same colours as the iPhone 5s but that it will also come featuring the fingerprint technology built into the Home button.
Reports about the iPad Mini 2 have been few and far between but the accepted belief is that it'll come sporting a high-resolution Retina Display, something which the original iPad Mini does not have.
It's also believed the iPad Mini 2 will come sporting the same A7 64-bit processor which is found in the iPhone 5s which also features the M7 coprocessor which has been built to handle background sensor operation saving on battery life and allowing the iPhone to intelligently learn how you're using it.
If the iPad Mini 2 is unveiled at the rumoured iPad launch event in October then it's also fairly likely that the company will unveil an updated iPad 5 with some rumours pointing at a much thinner bezel along with new colours.
Rather than follow the colour scheme of the iPhone 5c it looks like Apple will be keeping its tablets in line with the premium 5s opting for three colours, white, grey and gold.
