Following reported issues with download and installation for GTA V on PlayStation Network last week, Sony has stated that they will be improving the experience for next-gen console, PlayStation 4

The PlayStation Network came under extreme pressure after Rockstar Games new Grand Theft Auto V release last week, with more than $1 billion in sales after just three days.

Users reported issues with installation and downloading the 18GB worth of game saying they were receiving an error code on PSN which stated their download was corrupted.

Fergal Gara, PlayStation UK boss, told EuroGamer that the same experience would not be seen on Sony’s next-gen console launching Nov. 29, PlayStation 4.

Gara commented, “First of all, it is definitely going to grow as a means of consumption, and there are big innovations in the PS4 to make it more attractive and more easy gamer wise to want to download.”

A new feature for the PS4 is ‘Pay as you Download,’ which allows users to commence playing before the whole file is downloaded.

In terms of a solution, Gara stated that “the file version of the game versus the disc version of the game maybe needs to go through additional QA and additional testing.”

Gara also explained that the focus on PSN is a “major area of investment” and said “we’re definitely moving in the right direction.”
